“I loved this beautiful book. I have read other books on Ayurveda, and my mind just couldn't stay focused. This book came to me at just the right time and as soon as I began it, I wanted to know more. It spoke right to me in so many ways. I consider myself to be a healthy person and after learning more about Ayurveda through this book I have learned several techniques to help me feel better whether it's day to day, when sick, tired, anxious, etc. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I particularly loved the part on Breath and Meditation as it provides actual practices that I can do anywhere. I have also been using this as a guide in the kitchen and have enjoyed several of the recipes - carrot and oat balls (basically carrot cake - so good), banana oat breakfast balls, spicy creamy tomato soup, and carrot ginger soup. This book is AMAZING. The opening letter and story were enough to grip me and I fell in love with it immediately. The way the writer says and explains everything is so digestible and she is so humble! Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest medical systems designed to help prevent dis-ease and bring/keep your body/mind/spirit in balance. As a yoga teacher and one who LOVES and sees how important Ayurveda is for a healthy life I am so happy, she wrote this book. I have researched, studied and read a lot on Ayurveda. I have taken advanced Ayurveda courses and seen a couple of Ayurvedic Practitioners, assisted with Ayurvedic massages (as a Massage Therapist) and most importantly (as much as I can) I LIVE an Ayurvedic life. AND NOW Kristen puts it so simply WHY I do it and WHY it works and HOW to make it work for you.
